You are now connected to a **paKet** system offering REMOTE access.
You may perform file transfers to and from this system.
Binary file transfers are supported. Available protocols are:
paKet-Protocol (pP), an enhanced YAPP-compatible protocol;
Standard YAPP protocol
BayCom "protocol".
Note- UPLOAD means you send the file,
DOWNLOAD means you receive the file.
Please note this is NOT a BBS!
There are no facilities for forwarding mail nor bulletins.
Those are functions of a BBS, this is a private **paKet** system.
The Menu commands are:
A - Abort an ASCII download
B - Bye (logoff)
D - Download an ASCII text file
H - Help (display this file)
I - Information about this system
K - Kill a paKet PMS message
L - List paKet PMS messages
MD - BayCoM Download a Binary file
MU - BayCoM Upload a Binary File
MW - BayCoM What files are available
R - Read a paket PMS message
S - Send a message to the paKet PMS
T - Talk to the PAKET operator
U - Upload an ASCII text file
V - Version number of this system
W - What ASCII text files are available
YD - YAPP (or pP) Download a Binary file
YU - YAPP (or pP) Upload a Binary file
YW - YAPP (or pP) What files are available
? - Help (display this file)
When you display available files on this system with the W, YW or MW
commands, you may see some entries with <DIR> instead of the file size.
This indicates a sub directory of that name.
To display the names files in a sub directory, enter the W, YW or MW
command followed by the name of the desired sub directory: Eg:
W UTILS or
YW PAKET or
MW BAY
To download a file from a sub directory, include the directory name with
the filename. Eg:
D UTILS\RADIO.TXT or
YD \PAKET\PAKET5.EXE or
MD BAY\BAYCOM.ZIP
For BayCom users, when you want to transfer a Binary file, let me do all
the work. You do NOT need to enter ANY commands at your end, such as
the //WPRG command. I'll do it all from here! You simply enter the paKet
menu command, eg: MD PROG.COM and I will generate the necessary commands
for your BayCom system. If you are Uploading a file to me, I would like to
know the file size so I will know when to close the file at this end. So
to Upload, enter (eg) MU PROG.EXE,12345.
It was decided to limit the UPLOADs to a single directory, so when
uploading a file, just specify the filename - the directory name is not
required.
